On Tuesday, October 16, head of the RSA Oleksandr Ledyda met with Acting Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova.
Transcarpathian region and the Slovak Republic have strong socio-economic and cultural ties. In the region there are a number of Slovak companies, in Uzhgorod there is the Slovak school and cultural center. At the meeting it was decided that the parties would continue to maintain such close cooperation.
Also Transcarpathian region has strong diplomatic ties with the Slovak Republic, but there are still problems with the issuance of Schengen visas by Slovak consulates to Transcarpathian residents.
– I know that the percentage of Transcarpathians who receive visas in the consulates of our country is very low – said Janka Buryanova – All this happens because of a complex mechanism, paperwork, etc. Therefore, I can assure you that I will work on simplifying the procedures for obtaining Schengen visas at consulates of the Slovak Republic.
Finally both parties agreed on the fact that there are still many areas where Transcarpathia and Slovakia can successfully cooperate. In particular, the Slovak experience in building waste recycling infrastructure will be useful in the construction of factories in Transcarpathia – informed the press center of the RSA.
