Constitutional Court judge has allocated more than 300,000 to help doctors during a pandemic

The number one problem in the fight against COVID-19 is currently the protection of doctors. The Constitutional Court Judge Vasyl Lemak emphasized this on his Facebook page and called on Ukrainian lawyers – not only judges (who already provide such assistance), but also prosecutors, lawyers – to help openly.
In particular, he has purchased 1,000 high-grade respirators for hospitals and will allocate UAH 300,000 to hospitals.
“I took an unused vacation for the past year (one and a half months) and for the last week have been looking into the most urgent needs of hospitals thanks to volunteers on the ground. The number one problem in the fight against COVID-19 for today is the protection of the doctors. I couldn’t help but react. At the request of chief doctors, I have purchased 1,000 respirators of high protection grade for hospitals.
This is the first step and I’m not going to refuse other requests for essential things in order to make the doctor feel safe at work. I’m not doing this quietly only because it is impossible to conceal it. And the idea is different. Helping people is cool. I know that many of my colleagues in our court and in the Supreme Court and in other courts are doing the same. And I want the number of such colleagues (and not just judges, but also prosecutors, lawyers) to increase every day. This is what doctors, and ultimately, all of us need,” – he emphasized.
