Conscientious border guards are being intimidated

State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is taking a series of measures to counteract illegal activities at the state border. However, individuals, who are involved in illegal activities, do not wish to give up their "business". Instead, they try to exert pressure on employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, hoping that it will make them stop preventing unlawful activities.

One of the victims of such pressure was an officer of the Mukachevo border guard detachment. The inspector of the Border Guard Service was beaten by three persons who had broken into his private house. The law enforcement officers with various injuries was taken to the district hospital where he was given the necessary medical care. The police was informed about this fact. This fact was registered in the URPI. Also it has been established that the attack may have been committed by three local residents, who are involved in smuggling activities on the state border. On July 27, this officer, as a member of a border guard group, prevent an attempted smuggling of 12 packages of tobacco products, and the offenders then fled having abandoned their carriage.

In addition, as previously reported, last week, there were threats to border guards of the "Dilove" department of the Mukachevo Detachment. They had also prevented an attempted smuggling of tobacco products. After the detention of four packages of cigarettes, one of the border guards was approached by a local resident who was behaving aggressively and began to threaten, even promising to burn his house. The competent authorities were informed on this fact, and it was registered in the URPI.

In all such cases, the border guard authorities will carry out checks and protect the rights of servicemen who faithfully guard the interests of our country. Offenders, who resort to threats to border guards, will not go unnoticed by officers of internal security of the State Border Guard Service and law enforcement authorities and will be brought to criminal liability, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine states.
