Architect and designer Volodymyr Pavlyshyn posted in the group "Uzhgorod" on facebook an album with city views.

He writes: "There is such a trend that gradual changes are not very noticeable compared to the abrupt and radical ones. We decided to see how the situation with street advertising and "cluttering" in the center of Uzhgorod has changed over the past three years, and found significant improvements that have been achieved through the efforts of activists and the community."

The pictures were taken with intervals of several years, and they show how the face of the city has changed. It has changed thanks to the efforts of activists and the community who were continually emphasizing the unacceptability of cluttering Uzhgorod and primarily its historic center with signs and advertising, and were fighting against it. The results are obvious. Unfortunately, it was possible not because of but despite the activity of the government.

By the way, the "new city authorities" plan to "zero out" the achievements of Uzhgorod residents in combating outdoor advertising on the streets of the historic center – we are talking about the draft decision of the Executive Committee to extend permits for outdoor advertising for almost one hundred media, the permits for which have already expired and which should have been removed (including the city lights on Voloshin street).
