A citizen of Ukraine tried to move tobacco producrs across the border, but was detained by Transcarpathian customs officers and border guards of the Mukachevo detachment.
The Ukrainian drove to the checkpoint "Vylok" of the Transcarpathian customs office through the "green corridor" lane. The driver presented passport of a citizen of Ukraine and registration documents for the vehicle for the customs control.
Given the results of the risk analysis, the vehicle was transferred from the "green corridor" to the "red corridor" for an in-depth inspection.
Before in-depth inspection, customs officials asked the Ukrainian whether he was transporting any goods and items prohibited or restricted for export from the customs territory of Ukraine and hidden from customs control. The citizen said that he was carrying nothing of the above and committing no illegal actions.
During the in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle and the driver’s personal belongings, they found cigarettes, undeclared during the oral questioning and hidden from customs control, which were in specially made recesses and in a spare wheel.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially made caches impeding their detection.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report of customs rules violation, the cigarettes, the spare wheel and the vehicle were seized.
