May 29th, about 23 o’clock, officers of the Border Service unit "Salovka" prevented an attempt of illegal transportation of excisable goods across the border to Hungary.
While patrolling the border stretch, border guards of the said unit found footprints heading in the direction of the border. Later, during the check of the adjacent area, border guards found 18 boxes of cigarettes "Navigator", which were on the bank of the Tisa river. Overall, border guards found 9,000 packs of cigarettes.
Another 2,500 packs of "Jin Ling" cigarettes were found by border guards and customs officers at the railway crossing "Pavlovo." While checking the train heading abroad, the inspectors dug out five boxes of cigarettes, which were hidden under a layer of iron ore.
The found tobacco products will be handed to the Main Office of the Ministry of Incomes and Charges of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
