Chop border guards found 2,000 packs of cigarettes in a truck trailer

Yesterday, at the checkpoint "Tisa", border guards of the Chop detachment together with customs workers prevented an attempted smuggling of more than 2,000 packs of cigarettes to Italy.

Thet tobacco products made in Ukraine of the brands "Marlboro", "Camel", "LM" and "Winston" were carried in a truck "MAN" by a citizen of Ukraine. During the border and customs control, border guards decided to conduct an in-depth inspection of the vehicle. During it, they found in the side tool boxes of the trailer a specially equipped hiding place.

The found tobacco products and the flatbed semi-trailer were seized and handed over to customs officers. The total cost of all the seized property is almost UAH 290 thousand.
