Chocolatier Valentin Shtefanyo played drymba… With the Transcarpathian choir (VIDEO)

On December 27, the Distinguished Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir, whose artistic director is Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk, presented in Uzhgorod Regional Philharmonic a New Year and Christmas concert "New Year House".

The audience were amused with traditional Transcarpathian folk rituals, carols, vocal and choreographic compositions, songs and dances of ethnic minorities of the region (choreographer – Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Mykhailo Sachko, soloists – People’s Artist of Ukraine Petro Matiy, Lyudmila Yatsevska, Natalia Matsko, Yana Sadvariy and others). To all, artists recreated a real village ball (producer – Mykhailo Shyutiv).

The concert program had a plot that was set on Christmas Eve in a village house. The father stayed at home with the children, while the mother was gone working abroad. The artist of the ballet group Vitaly Bagin played the master of the house, and his wife in real life played the mother, who came home for the holidays. People’s Artist of Ukraine Clara Labyk played the grandmother, who taught grandchildren to pray.

And the role of the master’s friend was performed by… the famous chocolatier Valentin Shtefanyo. He came with macarons made by himself, which he gave to the children. And he advised them to pray to Jesus, to be obedient and make a wish. Then, there was the announced, but secret surprise: the chocolatier played drymba to the accompaniment of the orchestra. It was a well-known folk song. The audience gave standing ovation.
