Children benefits take up 90% of subsidies for Transcarpathia

As of May 1, 2014, local budgets have received 459.3 million hryvnia of taxes and duties (mandatory payments), representing 101.2% of the corresponding figure for January-April 2013, or 5.4 million hryvnia more.
         During January – April 2014, the region received from the state budget the equalization grant in the amount of 980.7 million hryvnia, representing 96% of the planned amount. The rest of the plannned amount of the equalization grant in the amount of 40.6 million hryvnia was received only on May 7.

         Local budgets received subsidies from the state budget in the amount of 683 million hryvnia or 97.4% of the plan.  613.2 million hryvnia (89.7% of the subsidy) was allocated for payment of children benefit. Another 53 million was allocated to Transcarpathia for benefits for electricity, natural gas.  Only 16 million was allocated for the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of streets and communal roads in settlements.  

         In the structure of the expenditures, the main proportion was spendings of social sphere and social security – 95.8%. The share of expenditures on education amounted to 36.1% (or 668.9 mln UAH), health care – 17.8% (329.1 mln UAH), social protection and social security of the population – 37 7% (699.4 mln UAH), culture, art and physical education and sport – 3.7 and 0.5%, respectively (68.0 mln UAH and 9.6 mln UAH).
