On February 9, at 7:00 pm, Chicago soloist and guitarist Will Jacobs will perform in the ILKO Gallery.
Will Jacobs is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer. He studied at Berklee College of Music and in Boston. He is famous for his powerful live performances. His styles are blues, r&b, soul.
Talented and very charismatic, known for his crazy energy at live performances, during which he tells stories and always improvises, Will Jacobs, at 24, became one of Chicago’s most famous musicians. He started his musical career at 12, performing in the Buddy Guy’s Legends and other key Chicago clubs. At 14, he became the co-winner of the Grammy Award (as a member of the New Trier High School Jazz Band).
He was widely known for his victory at the Chicago Blues Challenge. Critics, noting his style of guitar playing and deep blues vocals, compare him with such veterans as Buddy Guy, Albert King, Luther Allison.
Now Will writes original music in the best traditions of the "golden age" of the Chicago Blues and tours and plays concerts around the world. He has performed with Breezy Rodio, three times Grammy nominee Billy Branch & the Sons of Blues, Linsey Alexander Blues Band, Carl Weathersby, Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, Marcos Coll (Rolling Stones) and other blues stars.
