At the initiative of the Transcarpathian Palace of Children and Youth Creativity and with the support of the Chess Federation of Transcarpathian region, the traditional children’s chess tournament "Cup of Padiyun 2015" took place in Uzhgorod, on May 3.
51 young chess players under 14 years old from cities of Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, as well as Beregovo, Volovets, Vynogradiv districts participated in the competition. The competition took place according to the Swiss system in 7 rounds under rapid chess rules.
The tournament was held in the hard-fought but fair struggle and gave the young chess players unforgettable emotions and impressions. The winners of the competition among boys are: Andriy Izhak (the city of Beregovo) 6.5 points, Vladislav Havan and Vadim Petrovsky (both from Mukachevo) 6 points each; among girls – Yevhenia Tymoshenko (Uzhgorod) 5 points, Yulia Dankulynets and Camila Khymynets (both from Mukachevo) 4.5 points each. Also, awards were given to Miroslav Mishko (the city of Mukachevo) – the best among under 10 years old, and Andriy Markulynets (the city of Vynogradiv) – the best among under 8 years old.
All prize winners were awarded with medals, diplomas and memorable cups of the Transcarpathian Palace of Children and Youth Creativity "PADIYUN"
