This is stated in the post on the website of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration:
"Unfortunately, the statistics are disappointing. Today, Transcarpathian region had a record number of infected – 82 people. As of 09:00, we have 1808 confirmed cases for the entire monitoring period. In total, we have 342 medical workers and 112 children. This is a dangerous level. As for mortality statistics, it is 2.4%, but today we already have 4 confirmed deaths of people infected with COVID-19," – the head of the region said.
While, for example, in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, the number of infected people begins to drop, in Mizhhirya, Svalyava and Velyky Berezny districts, there is an increase in morbidity. The reason, in particular, is the neglect of the basic quarantine restrictions. Transcarpathians have stopped wearing masks, adhering to social distancing, and are attending mass events: weddings, funerals, and other religious gatherings.
Small outbreaks of coronavirus have been recorded in many settlements in the region.
There is a need to toughen the control over compliance with the quarantine restrictions about wearing masks, social distance, hand disinfection.
"We will bring back serious restrictions. This primarily applies to kindergartens, due to high number of infected children.
In addition, checkpoints with temperature screening and surveys will be set up at the entrance to the region and in the cities where outbreaks have occurred. Representatives of the national police will be on guard there in order to restrict entry, especially to those areas and to those settlements, where there have been outbreaks," – Oleksiy Petrov said.
Recall that earlier it was reported about toughening of quarantine in the settlements of the Tereblya Valley.
