People crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border are reporting about huge queues.
According to travelers, the Ukrainian side is moving quite fast, but the Hungarian side is much slower, which is a typical picture this summer.
The SFS of Transcarpathia, having analyzed the congestions at checkpoints from July 1 to August 21, published short tips for crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
Thus, the best days to cross checkpoint Chop-Zahony are Tuesday or Wednesday, and you should definitely not go to the checkpoint on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The best days to cross the checkpoint "Luzhanka-Beregsurany" are Tuesday and Thursday, but if you choose a Saturday or Sunday to cross the border, you should leave early, because the number of people crossing the border at this checkpoint is the highest on those days.
The checkpoint "Vylok-Tiszabecs" is the least busy on Sunday, but on Saturday you will have to wait a while.
Small checkpoints Kosyno-Barabash and Dzvinkove-Lonja proved to be quite convenient for crossing the border, but these checkpoints are open daily from 08:00 to 20:00, so you should not plan night trips through these checkpoints.
The lowest number of cars crosses the border at Kosyno-Barabash checkpoint on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Friday-Saturday are the busiest days.
The most convenient day for crossing the border at the checkpoint Dzvinkove-Lonja is Tuesday, and on Saturday and Sunday there are queues.
The Chop Border Guard Detachment explained that there are problems with databases on the Hungarian side, both at the customs and border services of Hungary.
