Kyrylo Khomyakov, the Head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine, told on his page about the technical characteristics of the future airport in Transcarpathia.
"The government has decided on the need to implement a project to build an airport in Transcarpathia. This year, UAH 30 million has been allocated for pre-project and project work on the construction of the airport," – the message reads.
It is unknown at this time whether it is about the airport in Mukachevo, which has long been discussed in the government.
However, Kyrylo Khomyakov writes that the construction of a new airport in Transcarpathia involves:
length of the runway no less than 2500 m;
possibility to accept A320 / B737 class aircrafts;
passenger traffic 200-300 thousand per year with a potential increase to 500-600 thousand;
attraction of investments in the amount of UAH 3-4 billion (airfield – state investments, terminal – private investor).

Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain
Charters: Turkey / Egypt
Construction of the airport is planned to be started by 2023.
