Caught red-handed: in Uzhgorod, burglars tried to rob an apartment (PHOTOS)

The burglars were detained by police officers yesterday, January 16, right in the middle of a burglary in an apartment in the regional center.

Transcarpathian police reported that two previously convicted residents of Uzhgorod, aged 36 and 33, had broken into an apartment in the center of Uzhgorod.

However, during the crime, they were detained at the scene by the investigators of the criminal investigation department.

Law enforcement officers found out that the burglars had criminal records and one of them had recently been released from prison.

Currently, the police have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Theft combined with breaking and entering).

The criminals will also be checked for involvement in other crimes in the city.
