Cases of Hepatitis “A” have been detected in the Roma school

Yesterday, 17 October, the commission conducted the check over the fact of Hepatitis "A" contraction in the Roma school number 14 in Mukachevo. During the check, they inspected the dining room, class rooms, restrooms, playgrounds. They found broken taps in the toilet, and as a consequence, the impossibility of access to water.

The only source of water is in the school yard, which is unacceptable for the institution where so many children study.  

According to official data, as of today, they have revealed 8 children with hepatitis A. According to school teachers (unofficial data), there are 14 such cases. It is possible that quarantine measures will taken.

Due to outbreak, we highly recommend parents of children, as well as residents of Mukachevo, to observe good personal hygiene.

Note: Hepatitis "A" is an infectious liver disease caused by a virus. Infection caused by hepatitis "A" can affect any person. Epidemic outbreaks are possible. Hepatitis "A" is transmitted through water and food. Most cases of hepatitis "A" have the typical symptoms, lead to recovery and do not require special treatment. There is a vaccine for prevention of hepatitis "A".
