An illegal import of two cars to Ukraine was exposed by border guards at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod".
A "Skoda" and a "BMW" registered in Poland driven by citizens of Ukraine arrived to the checkpoint from Slovakia about four o’clock in the morning. When checking letters of authorization for operation of the vehicles, border guards became suspicious about the validity of these documents. In cooperation with inspectors of the customs office, they sent the notary, who allegedly had issued those documents, a request to establish their validity. The response from Poland disappointed our fellow drivers: the notary confirmed that he had not registered those notarial document and, therefore, they are fake.
Both cars were confiscated according to the law. The "BMW" is estimated at 55,300 UAH. The cost of the "Skoda" is nearly 52,000 UAH.
