The jubilee exhibition of a Fedir Manaylo’s student and one of the founders of the creative union of artists and craftsmen "Artist of the Verkhovyna" Jan Pashko has recently opened in the halls of the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life.
The emblem and the sign at the entrance to Khust, the cross in the Krasne Pole and the design of the museum in the city are just some of the projects, he is known for. The main occupation for the artist, however, is painting. For more than half a century, Jan Pashko has been keeping a notebook, where he records all his paintings, watercolors, batiks and lithographies.
The exhibition, which opened on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the artist, features more than fifty works. The works reflect knowledge and love of mythology, symbolism and the natural world – the topics that the artist is still interested in.
The paintings depict and reinterpret mostly traditional crafts, interiors and traditions of Transcarpathian Ukrainians.
No more words – the atmosphere is on the photos.
