“Cantus” launched a series of concerts for the anniversary of Bach

March 21 marks 330 years since the birth of one of the founders of world classical music, the famous German composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

On the occasion of the significant date, musicians around the world are preparing concerts with works by the artist. The Academic Chamber Choir "Cantus" is no exception. The group has prepared a series of concerts in honor of Bach. The first of them took place on March 12, in the Regional Art Museum.

According to the director of the Chamber Choir, JSBach is his favorite composer. "This music is full of deep philosophy and spirituality – Emil Sokach said – Yes, everyone has heard about Bach, but not everyone has heard his works. We want to convey his masterpieces of vocal and instrumental music to the broadest possible audience."

Artists from Lviv also joined the program. By the way, on the occasion of the anniversary of Bach, an unprecedented cultural event – "Bach Marathon" – is being prepared in Lviv. On March 21, in several locations in Lviv, there will be a huge concert with participation of more than five hundred domestic and foreign classical music groups who will be performing works by Bach for 24 hours.

"Cantus" will also join the marathon – the group will perform in the House of Organ and Chamber Music, at night, about one one o’clock. But, Emil Sokach hopes, it will not prevent the artists from returning home already on March 22 and performing at the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.
