“Cantus” is preparing for the “meeting” of Bach and Krupka (PHOTOS)

On June 15, in the lobby of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration, there will be an event interesting for its performers and the dates it is dedicated to.

 It will be the performance of the chamber choir "Cantus", where artists will perform two compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, whose 330th anniversaty is celebrated this year. The building, where they will perform, according to the director of the chamber choir "Cantus" Emil Sokach, is symbolic. After all, it was designed by Czech architect František Krupka, whose 130th anniversary is celebrated this year.

Architect Peter Szarvas told the Uzhgorod in. that in addition to the building, where the regional authorities of Transcarpathia now sit, Krupka designed two more buildings in Uzhgorod: the former House of Legionnaires and the building of the National Bank, which is located on Nezalezhnist embankment. As for style, the building, which is located at Narodna Sq., 4, was built in neoclassical style. It was built within three years, from 1933 to 1936. In the lobby, where the chamber choir "Cantus" will perform, there is a good acoustics and, importantly, external noise can not be heard.
