The bicycle route "In the footsteps of Transcarpathian knights" has been developed in Transcarpathia. It was developed by 3rd year students of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communications of UzhNU, the Mukachevo.net informs.
Accordiing to the organizers, the route is as foolows: "Teatralna Sq. – Uzhgorod Castle – the Dubky tract – Nevitsky Castle – Speise restaurant – Teatralna Sq.". The length of the route is about 30 km.
In Uzhgorod castle, you can dive into the history of the castle, see the remains of the church of St. George, learn about the sculptures of Hermes and Hercules, the mythical Turul bird. Also, visitors can hear the legends of castle.
Next stop on the route is the Dubky tract, where the participants of the bike tour have the opportunity to repair the bike and rest a little.
Then, climbing on the mountain, where the Nevitsky castle stands. At this point, you will attend a tour of the castle ruins, the legend of the Pohan Diva, the origin of the name "Nevitsky" and how it was destroyed.
The next stop is the restaurant "Speise" where you can enjoy Transcarpathian dishes.
