The rising cost of beer in Ukraine in 2013 will be caused, in addition to raised excise taxes, by the rise in prices of raw materials, logistics, energy and so on. Ultimately, the beer will rise by 10%.
Ukrainian company producing beer, soft drinks and mineral waters "Ukrpyvo" expects retail prices for beer to rise by 10.5% after the increase of the excise tax on it to 0.87 UAH / liter from the current 0.81 UAH / liter.
"From January 1, 2013 the retail price will increase by 10.5%," – said the General Director of the company Galina Korenkova.
She assumed that the increase in the cost of beer in Ukraine in 2013 would be caused by the rising costs of raw materials, energy resources and logistics, but did not specify the level of appreciation of these components.
On November 20, the Parliament amended the Tax Code of Ukraine, raising the excise duty on beer from 0.81 UAH to 0.87 UAH per liter.
