The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed ministries and vice-prime ministers responsible for government interaction with local authorities and local governments. The Cabinet decided who will be responsible for individual regions. The text of the order dd. January 14, 2013 № 17-р has been published on the Government website.
In particular, the Ministry of Economic Development shall be responsible for the direct interaction with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the Ministry of Incomes and Charges – for Kharkiv region, the Ministry of Agriculture – for Zhytomyr and Kherson regions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs – for Kyiv region, the Ministry of Social Policy – for Vinnttsya and Chernihiv regions, the Ministry of Defence – for Lviv region, the Ministry of Finance – for Rivne and Cherkasy regions; the First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov is appointed as the coordinator for interaction with these regions.
The direct interaction with Kirovohrad and Khmelnytsky regions shall be ensured by the Ministry of Industrial Policy, with Luhansk and Chernivtsi region – by the Ministry of Energy and Coal, with Transcarpathian region – by the Ministry of Environment Protection, the coordinator for these regions is the Vice Prime Minister Yuri Boyko.
The interaction with Volyn and Ivano-Frankivsk regions shall be assigned to the Ministry of Justice, with Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions – to the Ministry of Regional Development, with the city of Kyiv – to the Ministry of Infrastructure; the coordinator for these regions is the Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul. In addition, the interaction with Zaporozhzhya and Mykolayiv regions shall be assigned to the Ministry of Culture, with Sumy region – to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Poltava and Ternopil regions – to the Ministry of Health, with Donetsk region – to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports; the coordinator for these regions is the Vice Prime Minister Kostyantyn Hryshchenko.
