This weekend, the traditional, annual paragliding competition Carpathian Cup 2020 Borzhava Forever started in the Carpathians
During August 8-16, paragliding enthusiasts will be competing, flying in the air over the Borzhava valleys of Mizhhirya district, the State Emergencies Service in Transcarpathian region informed.
The paraglider is considered to be the most reliable and safe aircraft, but not everyone can soar over mountain landscapes, performing the program of this sports event. While the athletes are taking part in the competition, Transcarpathian mountain rescuers from the towns of Mizhhirya and Mukachevo are ensuring their safety and providing assistance if necessary.
Fortunately, the first days passed without major incidents, although the rescuers still had to help the athletes due to minor injuries.
