On the occasion of the Day of the Border Guard, in the jurisdiction of the Chop border guard detachment they conducted a "Day of open door" – a tour for journalists.
They told about the history and the present days of the detachment, and also showed the temporary detention facility for illegal migrants and stateless persons.
The commander of the Chop border guard detachment, Colonel Roman Hots personally showed visitors to his subordinate unit and told about everyday life of border guards. In the museum of the unit, the guests met the veteran of Border Troops, Honorable Border Guard Victor Koryahin, who was one of initiators of the establishment of the museum. He told about the history of the Border Troops of Ukraine, shared some border guard’s stories, and mentioned the service in the war in Afghanistan. Military men need to meet with civilians, border guards believe, so from time to time they organize such "open door days".
