Border guards, who were shot, are in hospital

Currently, the border guards, who suffered during the incident probably with traffickers of illegal immigrants in Transcarpathia, are being treated.

They are diagnosed with concussion, bruises, a few ragged wounds (the offenders were throwing stones at the border guards). 

Velyky Berezny District Police initiated two criminal proceedings over the incident, which had occurred near the village of Zhornava in Velyky Berezny district, Transcarpathian region, where unknown person fired at the border guards.

The first one is against those, who fired at the border guards, under Part 2 of Art. 345 (intentional infliction of battery, light or moderate injuries to a law enforcement officer or his or her close relatives during the performance of official duties). The second one is against the border guards themselves under Part 2 of Art. 162 (violation of the inviolability of the home, committed by an official or with violence or the threat thereof).

The investigation in the first proceeding will be carried out by Velyky Berezny District Police, the second case will be investigated by the military prosecutors.
