Border guards stopped people from Georgia who were heading to the EU via Uzhgorod

Yesterday, border guards of the Chop detachment detained another "seekers of happiness" who were going to Slovakia bypassing the checkpoint.

Local people noticed three unidentified men of Caucasian appearance, who had appeared in the border area. They informed border guards of the department "Uzhgorod" about suspicious persons moving towards the border. As a result, border guards immediately started search activities. Thus, 250 meters from the state border, they detained three citizens of Georgia who were carrying travel passports. The men admitted that they intended to illegally cross the border for further employment in the EU.

Currently, the citizens of Georgia were detained for three days to establish the circumstances of the offense and administrative procedural documents were drafted under Part 2 of Art. of the CAO 204-1 "Illegal crossing or attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine."
