Yesterday, June 9, border guards of the Chop detachment took part in the mini-football tournament, organized by the border guards of Slovakia. The football match took place in Zemplinska Sirava located near the city of Michalovce in Slovakia. Transcarpathian border guards, as well as their Slovak counterparts, played well and demonstrated team spirit and a true sports professionalism.
In total, 12 teams participated in the tournament, namely border guards from all departments of the Police of Slovakia and special guests from Ukraine – border guards of the Chop detachment.
In general, Slovak border guards organize such friendly football matches regularly once a year, as it is a great opportunity to escape from everyday life and to spend time in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. "Such sporting events not only temper the morale and form character, but also contribute to the establishment of brotherly relations. The friendly football tournament held today is a perfect example of the friendly relations existing between the two neighboring states of Slovakia and Ukraine", – the head of the Border Police of Slovakia Tomáš Hlezho said.
The sport is, as they say, not about winning but about participation. So, at the end of the competition, the teams received commemorative awards and unforgettable experience. At the end, Slovak border guards treated the Transcarpathian border guards with a delicious dinner in a friendly, joyful atmosphere.
