Border guards of the Chop detachment found 10 boxes of cigarettes 20 meters from the border

Last night, border guards of the department "Salovka" of the Chop detachment prevented an attempt of cigarette smuggling.

While patrolling the state border, border guard patrol detected tracks and a damage in the fence. During the search operations, 20 meters from the state border, border guards found on the bank of the Tisa river, 10 boxes of tobacco products. Probably, offenders planned to smuggle the contraband cigarettes to Hungary.

The found tobacco products of different brands without excise stamps in total amount of 5,000 packs were delivered to the department of the Border Guard Service. Currently, the persons, who tried to smuggle the cigarettes across the border, are being identified.
