Border guards found forgery in the passport of a Transcarpathian heading to Slovakia

Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment found forged seals of the Ukrainian consulate in Slovakia in the passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
The 24-year-old Transcarpathian was traveling through the checkpoint "Uzhgorod". During the check of the man’s passport, the border control inspector take a close look at the stamps allegedly affixed by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Prešov. During the in-depth examination of the document, law enforcement officers found out that the stamps of consular registration at the Consulate General of Ukraine and permanent residence in Slovakia were forged. First of all, the Consulate General of Ukraine in the town of Prešov was officially closed at the end of 2014, which was the main reason to suspect the stamps being forged.
Border guards notified the officers of the National Police on the detection of the signs of a crime under Article 358 of the Criminal Code "Counterfeiting of Documents, Seals, Stamps and Forms, Sales or Use of Counterfeit Documents, Seals, Stamps". The passport was seized according to the established procedure for examination, the Press Service of the Chop Border Guard Detachment reported.
