Yesterday, in Transcarpathia, Border Guard Service officers apprehended two groups of illegal migrants from India.
Thus, border guards of the department "Horonhlab" of the Mukachevo Detachment arrested two illegal immigrants from India and their possible traffickers. Border guards received from local residents the information about a car, whose driver was asking the way to the border. A few minutes later, near the village of Danylivka in Beregovo district, border guards found the said car and stopped it for inspection. In addition to the driver, there were another 4 persons in the car: two citizens of India, a German citizen and a citizen of Ukraine. The driver was also our compatriot.
In order to clarify all the circumstances of the offense, the detainees were invited to the Department of the Border Guard Service "Horonhlab." During the interrogation, border guards found out that the Indians were going to illegally get to one of the EU countries. Also, the citizens of India said that the citizens of Ukraine and the citizen of Germany accompanying them had promised to help them in crossing the border.
A notification of commission of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of a person across the state border of Ukraine) was sent to Beregovo police department. A report of attempted violation of the state border against the citizens of India was drawn up; the case was forwarded to the court.
Also yesterday, border guards of the department "Uzhgorod" of the Chop detachment detained two citizens of India near the railway station in Uzhgorod. The men were asking to get them to the area near the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The detained Indians were taken to the detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. After clarification of all circumstances of the offense, the foreigners will be fined under Part 2 of Art.204-1 of the CAO "Violation or attempted violation of the state border of Ukraine."
