Border guards caught 11 Afghans on the outskirts of the EU, including the family that had been detained twice before

Yesterday, late in the evening, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment did not allow a group of 11 illegal migrants to illegally cross the border and get into the EU.

Border guards noticed the "travelers" using a thermal imager.   They were stopped by border guards just a few meters to the border. All offenders were citizens of Afghanistan – two men, two women and seven children of all ages.

Later it was found out that among the Afghans, there was a family of 5 people who had already been detained by border guards on the approaches to the border in late November at the site of the department "Luzhanka" of the Mukachevo Detachment, and before that – by border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment. In addition, officers of the State Border Guard Service found out that several people had been helping the illegal migrants in their journey but left them on the approaches to the border.

Given the weather conditions, they were cold and very dirty. Border guards gave them the necessary assistance and warmed them up. Currently, further filtration activities are ongoing.
