Border Guard Service inspector of the Mukachevo Detachment was detained for $ 500 bribe

A Border Guard Service inspector of the Mukachevo Detachment was arrested for taking a bribe in amount of $ 500

On March 12, in the village of Teresva in Tyachiv district, Transcarpathian region, officers of the internal security of the State Border Guard Service and the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine Office and the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Uzhgorod garrison detained a junior inspector of one of the departments of the Mukachevo Detachment while receiving illegal remuneration in the amount of $ 500 for facilitating in smuggling of amber from Ukraine to Romania. In addition to the said Border Guard Service inspector, another inspector of the Border Guard Service was removed from duty on suspicion of complicity to this crime.

While checking the information obtained from officers of the internal security of the Border Guard Service and conducting search measures, 30 meters from the state border, they found two plastic packages with 10 kilograms of amber, which were seized by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine for the examination.

The border guards were detained, the investigation is ongoing.
