“Book-fest-2019” in Uzhgorod will present the publishing industry of the region (Announcement)

On June 12 and 13, a traditional regional book fair "Book Fest" will be held in Uzhgorod.

This year, the eighth exhibition focuses on the products of the Transcarpathian publishing houses. The participants will have an opportunity to assess the level of the publishing industry of the region, which in general shows a significant growth in quality and genre diversity. The organizers of the exhibition also aim to attract the book lovers’ attention to promising local authors and new publications.

Considerable attention in the program of the exhibition is paid to the young readers, who in some situations even are the co-authors of the published books, as well as illustrations to them.

The program of the two-day event includes presentations of new books; meetings with writers, publishers and guests from other cities of Ukraine and from abroad; autograph sessions and vernissages.

On Wednesday, June 12, in the premises of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (Zhupanatska sq., 3), the book exhibition "Literary Neighborliness" will be opened, and a round table on "Achievements, traditions, perspectives of creative collaboration of authors and book publishers" will be held. The beginning is at 15.00.

And at 17.00, in the regional scientific library, the director of the publishing house "Ukrainsky Priorytet" (Kyiv), writer, doctor of philosophy Volodymyr Shovkoshytny will present new books of the publishing house.

On Thursday, June 13, at 10.00, the solemn opening of the "Book Holiday" will begin in the "Uzhgorod" gallery (Svoboda ave., 7/26). At the same time, an exhibition of PADIYUN pupils’ works "Future Book Illustrator" will open in the regional library.

At 17.00, the jury will announce the results of the book contest, and at 21.00, a poetry soiree will start in the regional library.
