Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv addressed the People’s Deputies of Ukraine from Transcarpathia with a request not to support the bill №4101-d "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Some Other Laws of Ukraine to Ensure Balanced Budget Revenues" in the current version. One of its provisions proposes to exempt Ukrzaliznytsya from paying land tax.
The message reads: "Payment for land is one of the significant sources of revenues to local budgets, last year its share in the budget of Uzhgorod was 7%. If this provision is adopted, the losses of our city budget will amount to 7 million hryvnias. The bill does not provide for compensation for losses in local budgets.
All this will lead to a reduction in expenditures for health care, infrastructure upgrading, repairs of roads, buildings, development of public transport and many other important things for the development of the city.
I hope that the people’s deputies from Transcarpathia will support us in the legislative body of our state."
