Servicemen of the Chop border guard detachment once again donated their blood. To this end, a specially equipped vehicle from the Transcarpathian regional blood transfusion station arrived to the military unit. Border guards were invited to take part in the donation campaign by Oleksandra Vasilenko, a volunteer of the Young Donors Association of Ukraine. The vast majority of the soldiers had donated their blood to cancer-sick children of Transcarpathia previously, since it was the fourth such campaign since the beginning of the year.
Also, during the voluntary blood donation, the border guards raised funds to help an 11-year-old girl who needs an immediate costly surgery.
In this way, the soldiers demonstrated their civic position and understanding of the importance of donation to save the child’s life, the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informs.
