As we already reported, according to the long-standing tradition, the blessed fire that comes down in Jerusalem in the Holy Sepulcher Temple was delivered to Uzhgorod. From there, lamps with the fire were taken to other cities and villages of Transcarpathia.
Representatives of the clergy of various Orthodox faiths of the region, as well as many, many citizens gathered at the Uzhgorod airport to meet the fire.
After passing the border control, the priests, together with people’s deputies, came to the square in front of the airfield and within a few minutes the fire was passed on to hundreds of people.
