Blauburher, dornfeldern and even champagne … (photo)

In Uzhgorod wine tasting continues. And although the fair was declared as the new wine festival, they taste both new and aged wine. Winemakers made their best and this time they present the original varieties – in particulat wines made from grapes of the Austrian variety blauburher and the German variety dornfeldern were spotted. The owner of the latter, the resident of Mukachevo Mykhailo Kozak introduced even his own champagne made without adding carbon dioxide.

Winemakers say that the interest in dry varietal wines is growing, but still many people request ignoble half-sweet wine, for example, Isabella. But the "repertoire" is advanced. For example, a resident of Mukachevo Vasyl Lendel offers more than twenty varieties, and exclusively European. He notes – though Transcarpathia is famous for white dry wine, this year is great for red wine.

Overall, the festival is less popular compared to the previous one – last year there was a real crowd in the cellars of the "Sovyne hnizdo". Tourists are not too numerous either. Probably this is due to the lack of information, lack of advertising, changing dates and other organizational matters. Thus, this fair was supported solely by the municipality and recently in Uzhgorod there was another wine festival, organized by private traders with interesting attractions. But the municipal event is somewhat deprived of the attention of tourists who either did not know or were "confused" about different wine festivals. However, a real Transcarpathian wine can save almost any situation.

At 15 o’clock the best wine of the season will be announced.
