Biomedical engineers will be trained in UzhNU

A new specialty "Biomedical Engineering" was opened at the Faculty of Physics of UzhNU.

Graduates will be able to work as researchers, design engineers of medical systems and devices, medical system maintenance engineers, sales managers.

Graduates will be able to find jobs at practical health care institutions; developers and manufacturers of medical equipment; scientific laboratories, institutes, clinics and medical centers; at enterprises engaged in sale and servicing of medical equipment.

By the decision of the Licensing Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dd. June 21, 2018, a new specialty – Biomedical Engineering – was opened at the Faculty of Physics of Uzhgorod National University. 

Graduates of secondary schools and colleges are invited to apply for the specilaty. Potential applicants should submit to the UzhNU Admissions Committee the certificates for Ukrainian language, biology, mathematics (or chemistry, optional). Foreigners and stateless persons can also be trained in this specialty.

Students study:

basic life support;

methods of medical and biological research and treatment;

components and units of modern analog and digital electronics;

principles of construction, functioning, design and programming of computer systems;

modern information technologies;

diagnostic and therapeutic electronic, X-ray, laser devices and systems, sensors.

Future specialists in the field of biomedical engineering will have internship at the leading medical and technical centers of Ukraine and abroad, – the head of the department of quantum electronics, professor Ivan Shafranyosh and the dean of the Faculty of Physics, Professor Volodymyr Lazur informed.
