Bike ride dedicated to 25th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine has started in Uzhgorod (PHOTO)

The State agency of Ukraine for war veterans and participants of the anti-terrorist operation and the public organization "Ukrainian Association of Disabled ATO Participants", at the initiative of the veteran community of Transcarpathia, will hold a veteran bike ride, which will run along the route Uzhgorod – Kyiv from 16 to 24 of August 2016. The bike ride is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine.

The bike ride will start in the city of Uzhgorod, at 8.00, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko, and finish in the capital of Ukraine on August 24 – the day when the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine was adopted.

The event will be attended by veterans of the war in Afghanistan, participants of the antiterrorist operation from different regions of Ukraine.

The route of the bicycle race will run through scenic locations of Ukraine, from Uzhgorod to Mukachevo, through the Veretsky pass to Stryj and Lviv, then will run through Brody and Dubno to Rivne, then through Novograd-Volynsky to Zhytomyr, and then to Kyiv to finish at the memorial complex in memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died in Afghanistan (Lavrska st., 27).

In total, the participants will ride the distance of 800 km.
