Berehovo bear was brought to Synevyr

7-year-old bear Kid yesterday was brought to a rehabilitation center for brown bears in the National Park "Synevyr."

The bear was left behind in Transcarpathia by a traveling circus: Kid would not obey trainers. For four years the bear lived in the village of Kidyosh in Beregovo district. Then the owners decided to send Kid to the rehabilitation center.

Kid’s owner, realizing that he could not provide the animal with adequate living conditions, voluntarily agreed to give it to the specialized rehabilitation center. The transportation of the bear was carried out by a group of employees of the "Synevyr" National Park consisting of 6 persons.

"Now the animal is in quarantine, it is being examined by the vet, and then Kid will be able to walk a spacious territory of the center with other bears. We hope that in the future we will be able to save other animals that are held in captivity in poor conditions, – said the Director of the "Synevyr" National Park Mykola Derbak.

Currently there are 8 animals in the rehabilitation center for brown bears.  Since 2011, eight bears have been rescued from poor conditions in Luhansk, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia and Transcarpathian regions.
