Berehove Resident Faces 5 Years for Spreading Kremlin Propaganda on Social Media

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) uncovered an internet propagandist who publicly supported and justified Russia’s aggression against Ukraine on her social media page. A resident of the Berehove district regularly reposted Kremlin propaganda, including content calling for the recognition of occupied territories as Russian and promoting the “necessity” of accepting Russia’s demands.

The SBU conducted an expert examination, which confirmed the presence of public justifications and denials of Russian armed aggression in her posts. As a result, the woman was charged under Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She faces up to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property.

SBU officers in Zakarpattia, in coordination with the regional prosecutor’s office, carried out the necessary measures to document the unlawful activities.
