The history of the professional Transcarpathian Regional State Russian Drama Theatre began in August 1947 with the premiere of the historical drama based on the play by Bekhterev and A. Razumovsky "Commander Suvorov". The play was staged by the first chief director of the theater Hryhoriy Hotarsky. Before that he was the chief director of Bilhorod-Dniester Russian Drama Theatre, but in 1946 he moved with the company to Mukachevo….
At the end of 2014, due to the events in Ukraine, the theater decided to remove the word "Russian" from its name.Now it is called Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater. Its artistic director is Yuriy Shutyuk, and the chief director is Yevhen Tyshchuk. The theater is located in a historic building in the city center, on Myr Square. So, we decided to show it to you from the inside.
