Because of hidden cigarettes two drivers were deprived of “merces”

This afternoon, the employees of the customs check point "Tisa" wrote protocols under the Articles 342 and 352 Part 1 of the Customs Code of Ukraine on violation of customs legislation by two citizens of Ukraine who had tried to transfer in a simplified mode 1024 packs of cigarettes hidden in the cars.

Our compatriots were heading to Hungary together in two cars of brands “Mercedes S300” and “Mercedes S500”. During the customs control they deliberately chose a "green corridor", thus declaring honest intention to cross the territory of Ukraine. Customs officers on the basis of risk analysis, decided to carry out a more detailed inspection of foreign cars in the profound examination box.

However, one of the drivers during the examination in every possible way was trying to prevent the implementation of customs inspection of his car. The behavior of the offender was extremely aggressive, he closed his car and physically prevented the employees of the customs office to carry out their responsibilities.

As a result of inspection, Chop inspectors found in the structural cavities of the two cars hidden from the customs control 102 cartons of cigarettes of domestic production, which hadn’t been declared during the oral questioning.

The total value of the seized tobacco products is almost 10 thousand hryvnia, and the price of the two cars, that were used to transfer hidden from customs control things, is about 290 thousand hryvnia – says Victoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman of Chop Customs.
