Because of forged documents, Transcarpathian customs officials confiscated a truck

A Ukrainian has moved across the customs border of Ukraine a truck "DAIMLERCHRYSLER AG MB 616 CDI / 60 B" released in 2006 concealed from customs control. As the grounds for moving the vehicle, the citizen submitted to customs authorities a forged document – certificate of ownership. These actions have signs of violation under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

During the customs inspection of the truck, Transcarpathian customs officers found in the driver’s cab the original certificate of ownership. The citizens had not submitted it for customs control together with other shipping documents. The copy of the certificate of ownership submitted to the customs authorities was different than the original. Also, the CMR consignment submitted for customs control and clearance had no markings of Hungarian customs authorities, which may indicate counterfeiting.

According to paragraph 6 of Part 2 of the Resolution of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Ukraine № 8 dd. June 3, 2005 "On court practice in cases on smuggling and violation of customs rules", both false documents, and authentic ones containing false information or changes, that distort their content, as well as documents with forged signatures, seals and stamps are considered forged.

Currently, the report on violation of customs rules has been drawn up, and the vehicle costing 66,500. UAH was confiscated.
