Because of a heavy snow, truck traffic in Transcarpathia will be restricted. Snow removal and towing equipment was sent to the passes

Heavy snow, which started in Transcarpathia on Sunday morning, significantly hampered vehicular traffic on four passes on the administrative border of the region. The most difficult situation is on the Abransky Pass in the Volovets district ("Kyiv – Chop" highway) – the main route for trucks. Due to wet snow, trucks can not drive uphill, as of 17.00, a three-kilometer-long congestion formed on the pass.

– The snow-removal and towing equipment was sent there, they have already started to tow trucks and clean the road surface, – Hennadiy Moskal reported. – To ensure a more efficient work, it was decided to temporarily restrict truck traffic on the Abransky pass until the weather conditions improve. At the approaches to the passes, police officers will be sending trucks to special parking lots, until the road service vehicles and rescuers clear the road surface.

The regional administration calls on drivers to refrain from trips to the highlands without urgent need.
