These days we have heard the Mizhhiria citizens’ talk, that the bears, which ‘have a rest’ in the first and currently the only Rehabilitation Center in the region, were castrated.
The Head of the Rehabilitation Center Yaroslav Bundzhiak confirmed this information to uzhgorod.in, explaining that the center works for the animals’ salvation rather than their breeding. As far as the bears of different species, which cannot be paired together, live in the joint cages, because they can demonstrate unprecedented aggression in the period of mating, it was decided to castrate them.
The professionals from the ‘Chotyry Lapy’ (‘Four Paws’) organization were invited to conduct the operation. It was they who sterilized on a month ago, and another one a few weeks ago. The operations passed without any complications, so the animals feel themselves well.
Veterinarian Center said that a ‘new comer’ bear Benia expects castration apparently in the future.
