“Banquet” in the Uzhgorod pre-trial detention center: inmates reveived drugs, alcohol, telephones and money

"The chief is not going to be fired. 
Inspection at the Transcarpathian pre-trial detention center № 9: the prosecutor’s office only demands to eliminate the revealed violations. 
Let me remind you that the inspection was initiated in late July after I had posted the photos showing the prisoners with prohibited items: mobile phones and alcoholic beverages. 
The inspection showed that the jail guards violated the rules of the penitentiary and other legislation.  
The Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office recorded the facts of smuggling of prohibited items to the pre-trial detention center and demands that the management find the guilty parties. 
Prosecutors also found out that the management had issued an illegal order setting up a qualification commission authorized to permit newly appointed employees of the institution without professional training to use firearms.  
In view of the revealed violations, the prosecutor’s office issued two instructions: to eliminate them and prevent their occurence in the future, and to cancel the illegal order and bring the guilty officials to justice. 
However, no prison officers or management have been punished."
