Azarov wants Transcarpathians to live like residents of Kyiv

Social cards like those issued to disadvantaged residents of Kyiv will be spread to other cities.

This was written by the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on his page in Facebook.

"We have held in several locations such experiments, when we use social card for the most vulnerable segments of the population. We are now examining how these projects work, and we think in the future to extend it to the rest of our country," – Azarov wrote.

"Kyiv Card" is an information and telecommunication system created to improve the social protection of the poor citizens (targeted assistance from the budget of Kyiv), and subsequently of all citizens – residents of the capital, to streamline mechanisms for the provision of benefits, their accounting and targeting, development of non-cash forms of payment.

It is a nominal, multifunction electronic plastic card, which bears personal data of a card holder, and supports applications relating to the provision and accounting of social support measures and other information services.
