During the conscription to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, servicemen do not have the right to "hunt" for recruits and detain them right on the street.
This was stated by Oleksandr Musienko, the head of the Center for Military Research, on the ObozTV.
Recall that the situation where young men are taken from the street have occurred in Transcarpathia.
Musienko noted that similar incidents have happened before: "In 2016, there were also situations when people could be stopped and taken from the street."
"There is the procedure provided by the law where a conscriptor can be served a call – those are the place of work, place of study or place of residence. There, you can do it. Any other actions, despite the noble goal – serving the homeland, performance of the constitutional duty, etc. – are illegal," – he stressed.
The expert recalled that, according to the Constitution, all state bodies should "act solely in a manner prescribed by law".
"It is the duty of not only citizens, but also law enforcement bodies to comply with the law", – Musienko said.
